Lyme Volunteer Fair

October 20 @ 2:00 pm 4:00 pm

From the Lyme Ambulance Association to Parks & Rec, the Affordable Housing Commission to the Lyme Land Trust, volunteers play a critical role in keeping the town of Lyme running smoothly. Lyme employs only a handful of full-time employees, so to operate efficiently, more than 140 positions on boards and commissions are staffed with volunteers. These are talented citizens who step forward to serve our town with their expertise and experience, dedication and passion.  On Sunday, October 20, 2024, from 2-4pm, the Lyme Public Library, the Democratic Town Committee, and the Republican Town Committee will host a Volunteer Fair with free coffee and cider donuts, and the chance for attendees to meet representatives from Lyme-affiliated organizations, boards and commissions. At this fun-filled event, attendees will hear inspiring stories about how volunteers play a critical role in keeping Lyme safe, operational, and fiscally responsible, as well as to discover how they might put their skills and talents to use, whether it’s providing an hour or two to clear a hiking trail, assisting an organization with administrative work, or serving on a board or commission. There are so many enjoyable and meaningful ways to be of service in the town of Lyme, and the Volunteer Fair is a great way to connect with neighbors and find out what volunteer opportunities are available.
